Theresa is from Lima, Ohio. She attended The Ohio State
University where she received a BS in Elementary Education and has taught grades K-8 and helped to prepare students for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. She has two adult children and two grandchildren.
Theresa writes: “My husband died in 2002 and I went to Lourdes, France six months later, seeking healing from my grief. The experience touched me so deeply that I took a one year sabbatical from teaching to volunteer full time with North American Lourdes Volunteers. I moved to Syracuse, NY, and on one of my
pilgrimage trips to Lourdes that year, I met my husband George. Though George is Irish, after we married we moved just outside London, England, as he worked on the London Underground (the subway). We spent nine more years in England
before George retired and we moved to America. In England, I worked in
substitute teaching and local government. At our parish, I helped prepare students for First Holy Communion and led a catechism class for a group of women from the Catholic Women’s League where I was a member. In America, we settled in
Fairfield, to be near my daughter and son-in-law and their two children, Natalie and Jackson. My son, James who has spent the last eight years in the Army, will be joining us in September.
Theresa and her husband live in Fairfield and are parishioners at St. Julie Parish in Hamilton. Theresa will be coordinating R.E.P. for grades 1 through 8, the
sacramental ministries for First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation and Vacation Bible School. Welcome Theresa!
